Tea Party

It seems like the Tea Party has let us down.  There was a time we thought we were actually going to get our country back, but now we are down to the same two party system - the rule of dumb and dumber.

I took an interest in the Libertarian Party, but their idea of "small government" does not allow for "providing for the common defense" - an idea that is rather important in this day and time.  So how do we form a "democratic republic" and take our country back from the elitest movement of the fourth branch of government - the administrative.

You realize, of course, that it is not the "laws" that are passed that are the problem, it is how the beauracrats interpret those laws and then set down Federal "regulation".  It is the regulation you violate, not the law.

Well, enough for now.  This is a blog of my ideas, not a diatribe of my politics.

Warriors Lost

Where have our warriors gone?  Today young warriors, who have been trained to fight, sit in a cubicle in Nevada and guide "drones" half a world away.  Today young warrior die, not in a fire fight, but because some coward planted an "IED" under the roadbed and then detinates it with a cell phone from two miles away.  Where have our warriors gone, and who will protect us when it gets down to hand-to-hand and face-to-face.

I bought a sword - a 14th century battle sword - and paid extra for it to be battle-hardened and ready for war.  I took lessons (and was blessed to find someone) to learn the ways of the "masters" after the 14th century Van Danzig.  I wanted to know what it meant to fight - up close, personal, deadly.

Oh, we worn the protective clothing, the masks - but there is something about being stuck with steel, that makes you feel alive - makes you feel invigorated - makes you feel deadly.  That is what we have lost in our warriors - that deadly feel - that dangerous feel.

Identity Theft

In this age of identity theft and watching over your shoulder, how will future generations get a taste of life in this time?

I just finished shedding fourteen years worth of my life, out of fear.  Warranty deeds, mortgages, loans, promissory notes - a detailed account of my life (at least fiduciary) into a million shreds because of fear.  Oh, don't get me wrong, I have had my garbage can stolen and ended up on the misery side of identity theft.  It took me years and thousands of dollars to make it right.  That's not correct - it is not "right", but it is "hidden" - so much so that I am now afraid to publish abroad my home address and pay the postal folks a hefty sum for a PO box address.

What have we lost?  What have we gained?
